Equestrian Experience
I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO, but have lived all over the country (Kansas, Texas, New York, Maryland, North Carolina, California and Washington State). During high school and college, I worked for a polo player in Wichita while keeping up with my showing activities on the Quarter Horse circuit, and I became involved with the hunter/jumper community while living in Maryland in the 1990’s.
My passion is and has always been American Quarter Horses, which I’ve been breeding and showing primarily for western pleasure since 1983. I’ve owned an AQHA Reserve World Champion and shown a number of AQHA superior and World Show finalists over the years. I’ve won national titles in both NSBA and AQHA competition, and I was awarded the prestigious AQHA Champion Breeder title in 1999. My current show horse is stabled at Summitview Ranch in Graham, WA, where he is in training with Kristy McCann.
I’ve been actively involved with the American Quarter Horse Association, serving on the National Marketing and Membership Committee, as board chair for the AQHA Region One Scholarship Fund, and on the executive board of directors for the Washington State Quarter Horse Association. I’m also a member of the National Snaffle Bit Association. To find out more about my horse business, please visit Jeff Williams Quarter Horses.
